Emergency controls

Learn what Flatten All and Kill Switch do, and how to verify the result.

The header’s Emergency · Slide to arm control reveals two actions with different purposes. Read the distinction before using either.

Flatten All

Flatten All requests cancellation of working orders and closure of open positions for the selected account. The request may not complete immediately and can require confirmation from the trading service. Monitor the account until current orders and positions show the result.

Check which account is selected before using this action. Do not assume that a message saying the request was sent means every order or position has closed.

Kill Switch

Kill Switch stops automation and blocks future automated entries. It does not close an open position or cancel every working order. Manage any current exposure separately through Trade Controls or the appropriate account action.

Use Reset Kill Switch only after reviewing why it was activated and checking the current account, orders, and positions. Resetting the switch does not automatically restart a stopped automation programme.

Choose the action for the situation

  • To stop new automated activity, use Kill Switch.
  • To request cancellation and closure for the selected account, use Flatten All.
  • If both effects are required, understand and verify each action separately.

After either action, check the current account state. If the connection or data is stale, verify the result directly through the connected trading account before taking further action.
