Manual trading
Prepare, review, confirm, and monitor a manual order in TurtleSoupX.
Manual Trade is an order-entry path. A confirmed request can be submitted to the connected trading service, and the service can accept, reject, fill, or leave an order working. A button press is not proof of a fill.
Before preparing an order
Check the connection, selected account, Market Data status, instrument, and the account’s Mini/Micro preference. Review any calendar or risk block shown in the workspace. If information is stale or the account is unclear, pause and resolve that first.
Prepare and confirm
- In Manual Trade, choose the instrument and order type: Market, Limit, Stop Market, or Stop Limit.
- Set the contract quantity. For limit or stop orders, review the relevant price or trigger fields.
- Review the protection and bracket source. Use account default brackets lets the connected TopstepX account apply its configured defaults. If you turn it off, review the explicit stop and target values supplied for this order.
- Keep Confirm Required enabled while learning the workflow.
- Choose Buy / Long or Sell / Short. Read the confirmation details; choose Confirm to send the request or Abort to cancel it.
- Watch Trade Controls, the chart, and current order/position information for the result.
The compact order ticket may show additional fields depending on order type and current configuration. Check all visible details before confirming.
Chart Quick-Actions
Chart Quick-Actions can lead to a manual order request using chart context. Treat the result like the Manual Trade ticket: review account, side, quantity, price, and bracket intent before confirming. Reopen and review a Quick-Action if the selected account, contract preference, or market price has changed.
If an order is pending or rejected
Do not submit repeated orders while a confirmation is pending or the state is unclear. Read the displayed reason, check the current order list and account state, and resolve stale data or connection problems before trying again.
See Risk and brackets for the difference between account defaults, explicit manual brackets, and automated risk settings.
